Does Screen Privacy Blur work with the Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or OBS desktop apps?
Yes, when those apps capture your protected Chrome tab, browser window, or screen. Blur and replacement are rendered inside Chrome, so the shared browser view includes them. The extension does not protect other native app windows; use the macOS app’s manual overlays for desktop content.
What is the difference between Smart Auto-Blur and Auto-Replace?
Smart Auto-Blur masks detected emails, phones, keys, and other patterns with a customizable frosted glass effect. Auto-Replace swaps sensitive text with realistic mock data so the UI stays readable during demos. Both are Pro features; manual element and area blur is free.
How can our security team verify that no page data leaves our browser?
Detection and replacement run locally in the Manifest V3 extension. Open Chrome DevTools → Network, establish a baseline, and toggle protection to inspect traffic. The protection engine does not upload page content. The CRM itself, website analytics, billing, and support can make their own requests; Manifest V3 alone is not proof of zero network traffic.
